Value-driven¶
Explanation¶
We only do things that add value, for example for quality improvement, satisfaction of patients or employees, efficiency, and safety.
Rationale¶
Healthcare organizations have a societal responsibility to keep care good, accessible, and affordable. This requires conscious choices between aspects that add value, aiming for an optimal balance between costs and benefits.
Implications¶
- We deliver the right care in the right place at the right time.
- We only implement solutions if they enhance work processes.
- We measure whether expected value is achieved.
- We document expected added value and costs in advance.
- We do not allow duplication in IT functionality.
- We reduce waste and turn-off unused resources.
